How to Know When Your Small Business Website Needs a Redesign
A website doesn't become outdated just because it's a few years old. It becomes outdated when it stops doing the job your business now needs it to do.
How Much Does a Small Business Website Cost?
Two companies can both say they “build websites” while selling completely different things. Here's what actually drives the price.
What Should a Small Business Website Include?
A website doesn't need every page, feature, or tool someone can sell you. It needs the right information in the right places, structured around your customers, not an arbitrary checklist.
What Should Be on a Small Business Homepage?
Your homepage doesn't need to tell visitors everything about the business. It needs to help the right visitor understand enough to keep going.
FAQs
How long does a typical project take?
Website Essentials projects typically take 3–5 weeks, Growth Websites 5–8 weeks, and Custom / Authority projects 8–12+ weeks. Timing depends on scope, content readiness, and how quickly feedback comes back during the defined review rounds.
Do you work with businesses outside a specific industry?
Yes. Site Proper works with established small and midsized businesses across retail, hospitality, professional and personal services, home services, and other industries where a credible, clear website matters.
What do I need to provide to get started?
A sense of your goals, any existing brand materials you have, and access to your current website and domain. We'll guide you through everything else during the discovery phase.
Do you write the content, or do I need to provide it?
We can work either way. Some clients provide their own content and we structure and refine it; others prefer we draft copy based on discovery conversations.
Do you offer ongoing SEO or marketing?
No. SEO foundations are built into every website we create, but Site Proper doesn't sell ongoing SEO campaigns, social media management, or marketing retainers. We focus on building the website properly.
What happens after the site launches?
Every project includes a launch-support window, a handoff walkthrough of how your site works and how updates are handled, and full transfer of accounts and access. Ongoing website care is available separately.
